📚 EXCITING DELIVERY! 📚

We have had our very own book vending machine! Isn’t it amazing! 🤩

In order to be in with a chance of winning a book from the vending machine, children must read at home at least 4 times per week and have their diaries signed by parents/carers. They are then entered in to a raffle at the end of each half term to be in with a chance of winning!

September 2023

On Friday 29th September, we took part in the Douglas Macmillan Coffee Morning and raised an amazing £250!!! Thank you so much for your generosity towards this worthy cause.

Year 1 had their first ICT lesson!

Year 2 became science detectives! They went for a walk around the school grounds to look at the different types of plants and trees that are growing around us. They looked at the colours and felt the leaves to see if they would help to give clues about if they are deciduous or evergreen plants / trees. They are going to visit them every week for the next few weeks to see if our initial thoughts were correct and to see if there are any changes to report.🎄🌳🍁🌿 They then sorted all the leaves, seeds and some photos using their knowledge of tree characteristics.

In Year 3 Art, the children have learnt all about Jackson Pollock and the techniques he used when creating his art. They then applied his techniques in their own artwork!

Year 4 became scavenger hunters in Science! They scoured the school grounds to see what creatures and nature they could find off their I spy sheets!

In Year 5 Science, they have been learning about the circulatory system.  They measured their resting heart rate and then measured their heart rate after different exercises for 1 minute (star jumps, running on the spot and step ups).

Year 6 started their swimming lessons at New Horizons and are doing amazingly!

This year, we welcome Mr Taylor from Staffordshire Cricket to our school.  Mr Taylor will be in school every Tuesday teaching Cricket to our Year 1 to Year 6 classes!  Here is Year 1 practising their batting and running skills!

Also this year, we welcomed Mr Fox from Bee Active who will be teaching PE to Years 1 to 4!  Here’s an example of a lesson.
