Breakfast Club

Breakfast Club is open everyday from 7.30am at a charge of £2.00 per day which is paid via ParentPay in advance. Bagels and cereal are included along with a selection of drinks.

Head Start Care Club (After School and Holiday Club)

About Care Club

At Smallthorne Primary Academy, Head Start Care Club provides after school care and holiday care on the school premises.  We have access to one of the rooms, the hall and outdoor facilities. We have appropriate activities for children aged 3 to 11 years which include:

• Baking/cooking
• Arts and craft
• Group games
• Outdoor/indoor physical activities
• Self-help skills
• Free choice activity
• Trips (such as Cadbury World and Splash Landings)
• ‘Treat Night’ (such as movie night, Nintendo Wii games etc).

All of our staff are fully qualified, DBS checked, first aid trained and have many years of child care experience between them.  We are also registered with Ofsted with our last inspection obtaining a ‘good’.

How to book your child in to Care Club

We have two ways of booking your child in to Care Club:

1. Book in advance for the week ahead by ringing or texting Care Club staff, or
2. ring Head Start Day Nursery or text the Care Club phone to let the staff know they need to pick up your child from class.

Please remember to tell your child’s class teacher so they are aware of whom your child will be going home with.

Holiday Club Information

During the holidays, you will need to provide your child with a healthy packed lunch. We will provide breakfast and snacks throughout the day.

We will book trips during the holidays and some will be free of charge, but where transport is needed, there may be a charge. You will be informed in advance.

We are closed during bank holidays but open at Smallthorne Primary Academy during Inset Days. We ask you to book a week in advance in you would like your child to attend our Care Club to ensure we can cater for your needs.  All fees must be paid 1 week in advance (to secure your place) either directly in to the Care Club account (Ref. child’s name), or by cash.  All fees must be placed in an envelope with your child’s name and the amount enclosed.  If you have 2 or more children, a 10% discount will be deducted to your account.
