Miss Holford

Assistant Principal

I would like to warmly welcome you to Smallthorne Primary Academy!

I am the Assistant Principal and could not be prouder to be at a school where everyone has the same goal – to be the best they can be!

At Smallthorne we have the whole package – enthusiastic staff, supportive parents, a strong community and inspirational children. It is a privilege to be part of the exciting and highly rewarding journey that Smallthorne are on.

The children at Smallthorne astound me on a daily basis. They are the epitome of why we do what we do! The passion and enthusiasm they have for their learning, their eagerness to make everyone smile and their willingness to share and talk about their learning is what makes this school the best place to be! There is not a day that goes by where I am not amazed by their potential and personal growth.

The City Learning Trust’s motto ‘United by our values, we place children and young people first in everything we do’ is the most important part of teaching. Watching these children grow into young adults, watching them shine in moments where they didn’t think they would shine, watching them have their lightbulb moments during times where they thought it wasn’t possible and watching them start to dream and set their aspirations for the future is what makes working at Smallthorne and the City Learning Trust worthwhile.

Our vision for the children at Smallthorne is that they ‘Smile, Strive, Shine’ and I can hand-on-heart say that by the time they leave us in Year 6, every child has been given the skills they need in order to continue their journey to shining, by having a smile on their face and striving to achieve their potential!
